Cami and Jax
Camille and Jackie, the sister team behind the Cami and Jax brand, grew up together on the beaches of Kauai, surrounded by water and a community of friends and family deeply in love with the ocean and everything it has to offer. The girls learned to swim at an early age and wore bikinis more often than clothes growing up.
Inspired by this simple, adventurous waterfront lifestyle, Camille and Jackie set out to create a swimwear line that would evoke the spirit of the people and places that shaped their lives, combining beauty, elegance, and grace with practical, down-to-earth versatility.
Camille
Camille grew up with a passion for surfing, and by the end of high school, she had already started on a career as a professional surfer in Hawaii. But she found that the drive to compete and win took the joy out of the sport for her, and she chose instead to pursue a college education. She later graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Journalism, but never lost her love for surfing or the sea.
In her role as one of the founders of Cami and Jax, Camille brings marketing savvy and business development experience to the team, building connections and promoting the brand. She continues to surf regularly for pure enjoyment, and her deep involvement in the ocean sports community helps shape the company's goals, direction, and design style.
Jackie
As a little girl, Jackie would take her mother's old clothes, cut them up, and sew them into new creations. With a passion for fashion right from the start, Jackie made apparel design the focus of her life and pursued it with an intense dedication.
Jackie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Production Design and Merchandising from the University of Hawaii, and studied fashion in Paris and Florence before putting her talent and experience to work designing Cami and Jax's first line of chic swimwear. Inspired by the people she has known and the beauty she has , her designs combine elegance and function, matching luxury with action.

Little surfer little one

We could ride the surf together
While our love would grow
In my woody I would take you everywhere I go
So I say from me to you
I will make your dreams come true

Justine Dupont, One of the most talented surfers on the planet

Justine Dupont burst on to the world surfing scene at the Longboard World Championships held in her native France in 2007. Back then, outside of her hometown of Lacanau, no one had heard of the 15 year old natural footer. That was until she started eliminating some of the best surfers in the world one-by-one, surfing with a smooth style and uncanny ability to read the ocean. By the time she made the final, the surfing world realised it had unearthed an amazing new talent.
Even back then Justine was riding all manner of surf craft. While she had learned to surf on a longboard after being given one of her older brother’s discards, she was also riding regular shortboards when the conditions were right. Then, as of now, it was simply a matter of being in the ocean and having the most fun possible. She’s often asked to choose which style of surfing she prefers, but for Justine it’s an almost impossible question. She simply loves to surf, no matter what is under her feet. It just so happens that no matter what the length of her board, she is one of the most talented surfers on the planet. READ MORE.......

Hundreds paddle out for surf icon Hobie Alter

DANA POINT, Calif. (AP) — Hundreds of surfers and rowers have honored Hobie Alter's request by paddling out in the Pacific in his memory.
Alter, who died in March at age 80, revolutionized surfing by developing the foam surfboard that was lightweight and maneuverable. He was also credited with bringing masses to the water with his "Hobie Cat" sailboat.
On Friday, the Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/1iyTo5C ) his family released bowls filled with soil brought from Hawaii, ocean water and sand from Waikiki Beach and rock salt.
During the Hawaiian paddle-out ceremony, surfers splashed water to the sky. The Orange County Harbor Patrol boat sprayed water, creating a rainbow.
Alter was memorialized on Huntington Beach's Surfing Walk of Fame in 1997 and enshrined in the National Sailing Hall of Fame in 2011.
