Erica Hosseini

Erica Hosseini has always been competitive and a sports fanatic. Erica started playing sports at the age of 2 when she learned to ski from her mom. She learned to water ski and mountain bike at the age of 4. Most of her childhood, Erica split her time between Lake Tahoe and Newport because her mom was a ski instructor. When she was 11, Erica began to surf regularly. At 13 years old, she started competing in the NSSA. In her first year of competition, she did not win anything. However, she worked hard and figured out what she was doing wrong and eventually she started winning heats and then contests. Eventually, she moved to Newport Beach permanently for high school. In 2002, Erica entered the Fosters Cup at Lower Trestles which was her 1st pro event. She ended up finishing 2nd at this event and at age 14 became the youngest surfer to reach the final of a pro tournament. In 2003, Erica won 5 titles. She won the Southwest Open Conference, Explorer Conference, Regional's, won the NSSA National Open Women's title, and Governor's Cup. In 2004, she finished 1st in the OP. She won the 2005 Volcom Championships, the 2005 U.S. Championships and the 2007 Roxy Pro Junior. Erica also won the 2008 Volcom championships. In 2008, she finished the year ranked 15th in the world. Awesome surfer and lady Ms. Alves is a lifelong surfer with a long list of awards and accomplishments that includes two ASP North America Jr. Women's Championships, an AskMen.com Top 10 Sexiest Women Surfer award and a USA Surf Team membership.

Christa, who is a recent mother, embodies staying fit, living a healthy lifestyle and of course, surfing. After losing 40+ pounds from her pregnancy, she knows what it's like to go through the rigors of losing weight and getting back into competitive surfing shape. "A combination of diet, exercise and the right supplementation was the proven way to achieve the body I needed for my return to the national surfing stage," says Ms. Alves.

Kelia Moniz Claims Back to Back ASP Women’s World Longboard Titles

Kelia Moniz (HAW) has won the Swatch Girls Pro China hosted by Wanning over Chelsea Williams (AUS) and by doing so, claimed her second consecutive ASP Women’s World Longboard Title. For the third year in a row this event has crowned the ASP Women’s World Longboard Champion, and also for the third year in a row the same two surfers have made the Final, with Williams winning in 2011, and Moniz taking it out last year.

Kelia Moniz at just 20-years-old has cemented her place in surfing history by becoming a two-time ASP Women’s World Longboard Champion. Moniz struggled early in the event, but came into form when it counted on Finals day using her trademark elegant style, power and flow to lock in some excellent scores and take the win. After the win Moniz was handed the same Hawaiian flag that current ASP Women’s World Champion Carissa Moore used to celebrate her win in Portugal earlier this year.

“It doesn’t fee real yet, it will sink it when I go home and celebrate with family and friends,” Moniz said. “I don’t feel like I was surfing my best at the start of the event, and I was a little shaken up going into the final because Chelsea (Williams) was getting 8-point-rides all event. Then I just pulled myself together, listened to some good music, said a prayer, went out there and tried to just stay on my board and it worked.
